Yeah, The Escondite. First time I went, food was pretty tasty. Decent burger cooked to the right temp with an ice cold beer... what's not to like? Second time, a totally different experience. Four of us dined - all the bread for the burgers/sandwiches was stale. Burger overcooked and loaded with connective tissue. Side of fries, which were the best thing about the meal, so small - literally two forkfuls.

The kind of experience where you're embarrassed you recommended the place.

I think you're talking about The Escondite, a burger "speakeasy" and bar. I think the food is pretty good, though I don't really go out for burgers often so it's not a usual place for me.
