Hole in the Wall - Sebastopol

Malcolm Ruthven Jun 25, 2012 08:39 AM

I went there for lunch yesterday and thought the place deserves its own thread, so here it is. I had the gumbo and it was just as good as the menu described it.

"Traditional Cajun style gumbo with Andouille sausage, chicken, craw fish, onions, bell peppers, and celery served with long grain rice. This dish is brought up from a dark flour based roux and has a smokey flavor with a bite."

The owner/chef stopped by the table and I asked him if this was his creation, and he said it was his recipe but that he definitely didn't create gumbo :-) I didn't take any photos but there are many of them on their website. This is a very good and very small place with a nice patio outside.

Glad you enjoyed the Hole. Its on my regular list for breakfast and lunch. Try the biscuits and gravy if you get back there for breakfast. The soups with lunch are excellent as well.

Oops, I missed that last-year thread. Now it has a this-year thread :-)

Probably did a "hole" search and pulled up every doughnut post for the last year.
Edit: and maybe a couple of bagels.
