My wife and I will be visiting Montreal between July 5th to July 7th. Looking for recomendations for local Montreal cuisine in the mid-price range. Would like food suggestions that represent the local culture. No kids to worry about; actually prefer more adult oriented restaurants. If you know of any other events in this time frame, then let us know. Thanks.

If in central downtown area Dominion Tavern is good place to stop. Be sure to add in a terrace/patio or courtyard for drink if not a meal. I would add some patisseries/boulangeries, cheese shop and maybe artisanal ice cream if still have time. Here is a pastry shop that is downtown, near museum of Fine Arts

for less expensive ones there is Mamie Clafoutis on St Denis just up from Sherbrooke.

And lots of others well loved by CH on this site if you want to go out into neighbourhoods.....

The Montreal tourism site has some reports on restos but other categories for events, things to do

the old port site has section for new restos, food as well as activities

I definitely would eat in Old Montreal but need to avoid tourist traps, many suggestions already on this board.
