Restaurant Private Room- LI

I'm looking for a great private space in a restaurant to have a 60th birthday party for my mother. We're open to different types of food, though it's a wide range of people and diets, so it's got to have something to appeal to everyone.

Where would you go if you were planning a party for about 25 people? (Nassau, Western Suffolk, Eastern Queens, please).

  1. I always liked the Milleridge Inn in Jericho (Nassau County). It is a great place for private parties. The food is adequate, but many of the foodies on this board will probably come down on this rec. The place is a coach house that is a few hundred years old with great atmosphere.

    1. Mim's in Roslyn has a separate area that should be accommodating for you. Nice menu with something for everyone. They also have a location in Sysosset but I'm not sure about a private dining area.

      1. Piccolo's in Mineola has good food, a private room, great service and their menu offers a good variety of dishes. A tip - the ravioli are excellent, all varieties.

        1. You are right Fred, it is not only foodies who would tell you that Milleridge Inn is not a good recommendation. Mim's would be able to accomodate 25 in their side dining room, but definitely not picturesque.
The George Washington Manor was bought out by the Poll Brothers (Riverbay, Bryant and Cooper, Bar Frites, to name a few). It is now called Hendrick's Tavern. I have not been there since they renovated, but was there for a function since they took over, and the food was a vast improvement. The rooms will be much nicer, and it is also in Roslyn, in town across from the clock tower.

          1. Wantagh Inn
            3264 Railroad Ave
            Wantagh, NY 11793
