Bar Taco in Stamford
I had a nice lunch today: A set plate with six tacos, two tortillas. Sides of chips and salsa were standard, quac, too.
Overall quality of the tacos (beef, chicken, pork...) was pretty good, not LA quality but pretty good. The tomales had flavor and a bit of spice. I liked the set plate. It ran $22 and was worth every penny. The plate fed two no problem. Beer selection was decent, margaritas were very good. Staff was engaging, friendly without being cloying and helpful when I needed, well, help.
In short, I like this place. I'll be back.

I don't know, I was expecting better. When the server has to come over and take 5 minutes to explain the "system" I get annoyed. Just give me a drink! And $9.50 for a watered down margaritas? The tacos were ok, but the Chicken Rice Bowl?? No flavor!
Overall, it's a too cool, overpriced hipster hangout. I'd rather get the real deal from the South Americans a couple blocks over at 1/4 the price.
One disclaimer: I went for dinner, so the lunch experience may have been much different.
