Paninis at Milo and Olive + 1 Great New Pizza
I check Milo and Olive's menu a couple of times a week and noticed the other day that they had added a couple of paninis to the menu. The two paninis were a soft shell crab and the other was a porchetta.
I ordered the soft shell crab and WOW was it good. Picture a perfectly fried SCC in that amazing pizza dough. Next time I'll try the porchetta. My companion had the little neck clam pizza. Another winner! They don't even remove the live clams from the shells until the kitchen gets the order (thus, it takes a little longer). Once those clams are out, they are chopped and mixed with chili peppers, olive oil, lemon, garlic and parsley and spread on the pizza. Then, into the oven. I traded half of my soft shell crab sandwich for 1 slice of that little neck clam pizza. Wonderful lunch. Each dish was $16.00.

Another reason to pay another visit to Milo + Olive. Are the paninis totally new? I don't recall seeing them on the menu b/f.... Had one of their sandwiches (had prosciutto in it.... can't remember the other contents) at the baked-goods counter. Very tasty, but I wouldn't have minded if it had just been a TINY bit larger for the price.... ::sigh::
BTW (and not to hijack the thread), I tried the crab cake sandwich/burger at Veggie Grill. I would've liked a little more "heft" to the crab cake. Quite good otherwise (but I don't recommend the exceedingly bland quinoa pilaf as a side).
