AC Cheap but Nice?

Hello!

I am going with a friend for her birthday to AC this weekend. We don't have much money but I would like to either take her out or at least suggest a restaurant that has good food and that isn't too expensive. I would love to stay lower than $20 for an entree, if at all possible, and a BYO would be even better.

Thanks!

  1. I hate to state the obvious but if your on a tight budget why go to A/C at all?

We have a free room and she wants to go.

    2. Food likes dislikes? What makes a place "nice", for me that would be great food and careless about decor, others want a certain atmosphere. Free room, so sounds like Casino, will you mind driving or want local to where you are staying?

I don't eat much meat but my friend eats everything, so no parameters there. And by nice I mean good to great food that isn't served on paper plates, though it definitely can be a hole in the wall and doesn't need to have much in the way of decor.
We are taking the bus in so we don't need to worry about parking and will be staying in the Trop or Taj? One of those.

If you stay at the Trop there is a great Vietnamese place just 2 blocks away, Little Saigon, Good food, I think it will suit both your appetites, it gets pretty good reviews and I liked it.

And there is Pho Sydney as well, but I have not tried that one.

I second the vote for Little Saigon!! I've been there half a dozen times and haven't been disappointed. Keep in mind you're going there for the food, not the ambience. Cash only...?

Agreed,it is all about the food. It is small (call for reservation and to also see if BYOB) but the food is great. It's not shabby, just small. I think their Yelp has photos.

I will have to check them out. Thanks Quine and Doc!

      2. Kelsey and Kim's is a real treat in AC for a great meal on the cheap. Southern food done perfectly! Service is not the fastest and it is BYOB, so go relax and enjoy. Must get a side of the collard greens as they were the best I have had anywhere, ever!
