Staying in Burlington for July 1st week

3 families from Alabama will be staying in Burlington, Ontario for the week of July 1st. Can you recommend any good locals eats, children will be involved. Will also be heading into Toronto for an evening. Price is consideration because of large families, but wanted to get some good food.

I would suggest looking through this board for recommendations for Burlington, Hamilton and Oakville as those are all a close drive to you (I assume you will have cars?).

In Burlington one of my favourite spots is a Vegan/Vegetarian place:

    How adventurous is everyone?

If you weren't from Alabama I would recommend a BBQ place in Winona that isn't too far away from Burlington (Memphis Fire BBQ) but I am guessing you are looking to try new/different things?

Does your party like ethnic food?

Downtown Oakville is a nice spot to check out. It is a little on the pricier side but there are a few casual spots (like The Works burger joint, but, some mixed reviews on here of the other locations of The Works). There is also an Italian spot called 7 Enoteca but it isn't a huge restaurant so might not be able to accommodate a big group.

Also, in case you didn't know, July 1st is "Canada Day" which is like Canada's July 4th. If you are looking for something to do that night and are in town already I would highly recommend Harbourfront in Toronto.
