Not for BBQ, but this wifi take control of your devices thing has been around for awhile now. You could take control of your TV and DVR via wifi about 5 years ago. I suppose it's just a matter of time and you will be able to cook a meal at home while having a Starbucks and using their wifi. Also been around for a while is the fan for your smoker tied in to the temperature read out. This just ties it all together. I guess I just like to participate in the process a little too much to purchase one of these.

From what I see, it's working over wifi. But is it really "anywhere"?

If they could develop something that would lower temps, that would be great. I don't think these devices have that ability yet.

        Hi, ferret:

        Thanks.

$295 for the controller, $105 for the fan, and $40 for the adapter... $440 just for the opportunity to screw up remotely? And you still need AC power, right?

Are these things able to interface with the auger-fed pellet units?

        Aloha,
