Chicago family dinner

I'm looking for a last minute reservation for 8 on Monday for an early dinner.
My aunt is coming to town - she is a serious gourmet - and wants me to pick a place she could take my family to. My kids are very polite and serious about good food so "family friendly" is not that important. Unless of course they do not allow children on the premises. You laugh, but we were turned away at the Hop Leaf chosen by my resto-biz brother, because they don't allow minors into the building.
We have taken this aunt to Publican, Erwin's, and Lula Cafe in the past. We live in Logan Square but I wouldn't mind leaving the neighborhood for a change of pace. Last time my parents were in town, we went to Longman & Eagle; the kids keep wanting to go back, but they don't take reservations and I would like to try something new. I was hoping North Pond Cafe would work - I've been there for lunch and loved it - but they are not open Mondays. I tried Girl & Goat but no luck for this Monday. My aunt is not a big fan of seafood.

managed to get a reservation at Sepia; a bit fancier place will suit my aunt. She always dreamed of having regular formal Sunday dinners with us but doesn't live close enough.

It's a bit of a hike from Logan Square, but would Nightwood work? OpenTable shows that they could accommodate a party your size next Monday pretty early in the evening.

looks interesting, might work. Mixed reviews on yelp make me wonder if it will be worth the trip. Maybe I'll make a reservation just in case I can't find something more suitable. Thanks

If you like Lula's, I think you'd like Nightwood, too (same owners; also, Nightwood's chef used to be at Lula's). Also, Nightwood is now home to the "Prince of Porc"!

In the Hopleaf vein, we love Fork in Lincoln Square.

Thanks for the recommendation. Alas Fork is not open Mondays.
