where to buy decent corn tortillas

Looking for a place to purchase decent tortillas at a grocery, etc. in the Philadelphia area. Live in the nirthwest part of the city but will travel a bit to find them. Thanks!

Aside from San Roman (which is great, and their fried chips are spectacular!), there's also a tortilleria with fresh warm tortillas in Norristown, on Chain Street just off of Marshall. Perhaps more convenient to you than 9th Street. You can also get perfectly good commercial tortillas at every Mexican grocery in town. Unfortunately, northwest Phila. is a Mexican grocery desert!

If you should find yourself in southern Chester County, stop into the El Sombrero grocery store on Rt. 41 in Avondale (about a half-mile south of Rt. 1). Just inside the door you'll find stacked cartons holding packages of freshly-made corn tortillas. Most likely, they'll still be warm. They fly out of there almost as quickly as they're made, and they don't get any fresher. And if there's anything else you need in the way of Mexican groceries or produce, their prices and selection are awesome.

As referenced by by Buckethead on that thread, Tortilliera Y San Roman on 9th St is still kicking and turning out great, fresh tortillas and it is absurdly cheap. Their salsa is great too, though not absurdly cheap.

+ 1000 for Tortilliera Y San Roman, they're still the only place in the city that I'm aware of where you can buy fresh-made corn tortillas to take home. I stop by every couple months to re-stock my freezer with them.
