Green Goddess fire

There was a fire this morning at the Green Goddess, started when an underground transformer blew below the restaurant during some Entergy work, according to reports from neighbors (rather than actual news sources). I couldn't tell how much damage was done, but there was only one fire truck dispatched if anyone knows what that might mean. I guess call before you go if you'd been planning to visit anytime soon.

The fire apparently wasn't AT the GG, but in some underground (?) Entergy equipment. They were still closed as of yesterday, but they had no damage, so once Entergy sorts out their problems, they should reopen.

yeah it was a building or two down. evidently entergy was doing some jack-hammering and damaged a gas line...according to what a worker told me it blue the manhole covers off. dunno.

Ooo! I'd have liked to see the manhole cover go...kinda like Jack Lemmon in "The Out of Towners."

Sad to hear. I was hoping to have lunch there one day soon.
