Bottega sucks

Took out a margherita and caprese on Sunday and they were both terrible, watery and soggy with limp undercooked crust. I can't believe this is supposedly the local benchmark. They don't know what they're doing and their pizzas are horrible.

        I don't think the take out ruined it, the people in the kitchen more likely. It was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had and eating in the restaurant wouldn't have helped it much at all. I'd only been once before a couple of years ago and remember being unimpressed by whatever I ordered, but this time was the last. Watery and soggy is an understatement. It was a wet doughy mess and entirely flavorless and bland in addition to being completely undercooked. How this place gets it's reputation as one of the city's best ios beyond me. I won't ever be back.

      2. I too have noticed the fact that their pizzas are quite watery and soggy. I've mentioned my frustrations before about how I think they put way too much sauce on their pizza.

            1. I'll second this OliverB here. I've only been once to Bottega because I was repeatedly told it was "the best in the city" and my pizza was also extremely soggy with limp dough.

              I will say that I found their sauce to be very tasty though. The dough just isn't right.
