Chow-worthy lunches in the Bellevue area?
I am going to be visiting from San Diego for several days, staying in Bellevue at the Hyatt without a car. The nights are fairly spoken for, but I need some tips on lunches in the Bellevue area for when we are not downtown or in our conference. Any gastropubs or craft beer pubs with interesting menus (not regular bar food) are a plus.
Thanks for your help
I'll add Lot 3 and Black Bottle as potential "gastropub" type spots. Lot 3's not my favorite as part of the Purple Group (I think they're all severely over-priced and go for scene more than food), but it's alright and it sounds like (and hey, expense account, right?). Black Bottle is much better.
If you just want beer selection, Tap House is also close by. Their food's not great, and many of their 100 taps (or whatever) are a little too common, but they usually have a few very nice ones and always many good local brews.
And I'll note that I was surprisingly impressed by Koral recently (and it's right in your hotel). They do a lot of interesting gastropub/comfort food-y preparations and dishes that you wouldn't expect from a place serving the normal Bellevue crowd. (They have a wonderful bone marrow app that's only like $5 during happy hour)
I think alot of the Bellevue recs in this thread would apply: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/644381
In short form, my Bellevue lunch favorites: Monsoon, Din Tai Fung, Facing East, Bamboo Garden, El Comal, Persepolis, Los Chilangos (taco truck with v. good al pastor), Garlic Crush.
