What's up with Pizzaria Picco-- Larkspur

We've been ordering from Pizzaria Pico for over four years. The pizza was terrific for many years but the pizza has been more than underwhelming the last three times...so I finally had to write. Crust is overkneaded...tastes like white bread, without the characteristic sourness it used to have. Also, unfortunately, it's tough. And finally, the tomato sauce, formerly truly tomatoey, is now tasteless. Enough. We're through. Better ways to spend $35 for pizza.

Odd... I think it's the 2nd best pizza in Marin (first place: Tavola in Novato) though I'm not a big pizza eater. Second odd: why is the affirmatively mediocre Toast so much busier than the affirmatively better Tavola???

thats too bad..i had several pies there a couple of years ago and they were great..excellent crust, excellent toppings...maybe Bruce Hill is putting too much time in at the SF joints, Zero Zero and Bix....heard the pies at 00 were excellent.

I've been to Zero Zero several times and found the pizza consistently good.

I didn't get the raves for Pizzeria Picco when I ate there. It was okay but the execution was sloppy.

I haven't been back to Pico Pizza since I discovered Tony Tutto's in Mill Valley two years ago.
