Flint's Ice Cream

Thought I'd give a plug for Flint's ice cream at Flint's farm in Mansfield, Ma. Located on east street route 106.
Was there last night and it was better then Newcombs in Sharon and bubbling brook in Walpole. Nice little place with some seating and decent parking.

Get there before 5 for the freshest local corn you'll have unless you live in a cornfield.

Assume you meant Crescent Ridge in Sharon? I like Flint Farms a lot, but the lines can get out of control there - just 2 or 3 servers/windows at a time. They are very friendly and the ice cream is better than CR, IMHO. A nice farmstand feel too.

That said, I'd still put Crescent Ridge a step above for overall experience, and choose to go to CR more frequently (I live somewhat between the two). CR has an old school feel, many windows, many people working, good ice cream, great ice cream drinks/sundaes. Plus, lots of people stick around and eat their ice cream at picnic tables or on their tailgates, giving it a very summer-y feel. N.B. CR has huge portions so a kiddie or small will usually do just fine if you're just getting scoops.

No, I meant Flint Farm & Richardson Dairy. From the link provided "NEW FLAVOR FOR ALL WHO LOVED CRANBERRY BOG - RICHARDSON MADE CRANBERRY HARVEST!"

My bet is that Foodie_BBQ was referring not to your comment but to libertywharf, who compared Flint Farms to "Newcombs in Sharon."

Correct. No question that FF serves Richardson's, which I would put above CR for quality, taste, and flavor-variety of ice cream. Neither is exceptional, but both are just fine for a summer treat.

Foodie: what do you think is exceptional ? CR is pretty good. Been going there for years despite my mental lapse on the name. I do think their milk is over rated.

I had a couple of scoops at Toscanini's recently. I would call that exceptional. Ultra creamy, unique flavors, etc. Out near us, the best I know of is the ice cream stand at Franklin Flatbreads, which I think has a different name. What's your dream scoop?

It's still good. One of my favorite places for soft serve. Michele's on Rt 3A on the Weymouth/Hingham line is at the top of my list with that place across from Montillios coming in 2nd.

Nice people! They serve Richardson Ice cream from the north shore, fresh hormone free dairy.
