Valley Village Chinese?

Hypnotic23 Jun 15, 2012 07:25 PM

I just moved from Sherman Oaks to Valley Village, right on Chandler and want to discover some good Chinese.

Close by choices are:

China Lites, Golden Chopsticks on Laurel or Tang's Chinese.

Would love some input & dishes on what's your favorite to try?

Thank you,

Stuart

Granted I haven't lived in the area in five years, but China Lites was the best out of a fairly weak bunch. The whole fish in black bean sauce was the standout dish for me.

China Lites was the best many years ago until they decided to change to a "healthy" menu. Another good one, if they're still there, is China Chef Wong on Lankershim. Their soft shell crab is superb.

It's not in Valley Village, but Green Apple Chines Bistro on Ventura is terrific and might deliver to you.

My friend loves Green Apple. I've got to try it sometime.

I"m not a fan of Green Apple at all, I did have it delivered and it wasn't that tasty, plus small portions. My favorite is still a dive on Burbank Blvd called Emperor's Express Chinese. If I decide to take a drive to Van Nuys, hands down Sam Woo's is my favorite. If stuck for Chinese on Ventura Blvd I would go to Chi Dynasty. Tonight I'm going to give TANG a chance on Magnolia, will report back...
