Thoughts on Rouge24

Does anyone have any comments about Rouge24? I have read through the stories about the reservation contract and the no picture policy. Has anyone been? Has anyone had the 24 course/16 course?

      I thought the 16-course was plenty of food. I'm not sure I would have wanted the 24. Lots of alcohol in the pairing, which is not limited to wine. I wouldn't do it.

        I agree with Steve. I did the 24 course - would not recommend it. Too much food, and I was too wasted to appreciate the last 8. I was also extremely hung over the next day, due to the mixing of cocktails and wine in the pairing, as were my two dinner companions, and none of us are lightweights in the cocktail department.

          So is the Beverage Pairings the way to go or the Rouge Pairings?

            I don't know what the difference is..... You don't have to get pairings at all. Each 'pairing' is presented with four different dishes, so the word 'pairing' is a misnomer.

            FYI, the restaurant's name means 'Maverick 24,' not 'Red (in French) 24.'

            third'd it was one of the most fun I've had in a long time. not cheap, but the reservation contract and price make sense when you see the amount of time and effort goes into each of the courses.

                I've done the 24 course menu.... just go... sure their requirements are restrictive... and of the 24 courses some aren't perfect... but there are 24 of them and overall they are cutting edge and well executed. Not in the top 5 meals of my life, but easily the most fun and memorable experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I get the impression that people to a degree just want to hate on this place because its not what they are used to or what the expect. Just let go and enjoy the ride.

                Badass cocktails and wine pairings too
