National Lobster Day - Where to get great lobster in Western Suburbs

Read that June 15 is National Lobster Day. I love lobster but can't bring myself or my husband to steam one. Ok if others do because once caught, they are basically doomed. Is there anywhere near Upper Main Line or Western Suburbs to get a really good 1 1/2 to 2 lb Steamed Maine Lobster? Willing to travel 1/2 hour or so but don't want to go into the City. Thanks.

  1. Whole Foods in Devon would be one choice...not sure if there is still a Hills Fish Market in Villanova. Also have the new Wegman's in King of Prussia.

Whole Foods no longer stocks live lobsters.

    2. Seafood USA probably cooks them. One in Wayne and one in Paoli. Usually very fresh and lively lobsters as well as usually well-priced. I did see an Acme ad for June 15 -17 where lobsters are 6.99/lb! Never seen them that cheap south of NH....doubt that they will cook them but not sure. And normally I wouldn't suggest buying seafood from Acme but if they are a weekend special at that price, they may very well have gotten a very recent shipment to allow for the influx.
