The current conversation about the new Le Bec-Fin motivated us to visit Georges in Spread Eagle Village recently. Pleased to report that the ""fine palate" is alive and well at Georges. A great venue with a busy, woody bar, more proper dining rooms and a walled patio for al fresco dining. The food options are small plates, entrees , pizza and burgers of which we have tried all and loved them all.
Specifically, the beet salad, Georges pizza, crab cakes, table dipping selection, a high quality perfectly cook burger, house made Ice cream and excellent coffee to mention a few we enjoyed. The patron attire was mostly summer casual. A few sport coat, some shorts, nicely but casual dressed kids, women and girls is summer dresses and not a tie in the place. My take on prices is that they would be considered on the high moderate side. The food options can allow a quite moderate final tally or a "did I really spend that?" The quality of all the food was to me obviously high and the service quite friendly and professional.
I agree. We stopped for lunch after visiting my tailor in Paoli, and everything was great. We had crab cakes, house salad, gazpacho and key lime pie; not to mention a 60 minute IPA, and everything was excellent. Service and staff were pleasant and quite professional, but with a good sense of humor, and the decor was well executed. The gazpacho was outstanding, by the way. We will not hesitate to return.
