Great Dinner at Seabar's Mariqueira

After much perusing throught this board I felt really excited about trying our first resturant in Newark. We live in Manhattan and don't get over to Jersy much but after this fabulous meal i think we'll be returning oftern. We sat at the bar and a delicious pitcher of red Sangria arrived to start- refreshing and perfectly balanced- this was a good sign of things to come.

I was really excited about our New Zealand cockle appetizer and it didn't disappoint. An enormous bowl arrived filled with cockles and brimming with a delicious butter and garlic sauce. Luckily they gave us some nice big pieces of bread as well. Much needed for the sopping up of sauce that accompanied this bowl.

Luckily we split our entree as well because this seafood platter was HUGE!! There was a whole lobster, scallops, shrimp, mussels and clams- we seriusly had a feast going here. Not to mention the big plate of rice. Seabra's was absolutely fantastic. The amount of food and quality was amazing. Full review with pictures below.

Nice review, and I do not mean to be critical as in being the grammar.spelling police, but you may want to edit to correct some misspells....both here and in your blog..

Some nice pictures on your blog and I would hope that you had enough time to peruse the many threads on Seabra's Marisqueira both here on Chowhound as well as Yelp.
Glad you enjoyed what has to be my favorite restaurant in New Jersey.

While I am not quite a stickler for grammar and spelling as fourunder,he does have a valid point. To some it reflects on credibility.

I agree with you both. This was written quite quickly and it can reflect badly. Thanks

Not to worry, you're among friends and one can hardly fault you for your rushed enthusiasm after dining at Seabra's.
          Cheers.

I concur, this restaurant is very good. It is like a mini-vacation in Portugal.
