Birthday 30s 40s
Hi Everyone! I am turning 40 this Saturday and am looking for a great outdoor space where I can invite a wide variety of people and easily mingle with my guests. Preferably there will be decent wine (for me), but I will defer for a great location. I would LOVE if this could be a rooftop bar somewhere. Music is fine as long as I don't have to scream to be heard, and preferably everyone can just go to the bar for their own drinks. Also, not too crowded? Is this an impossible request in Manhattan on a Saturday? I will also take indoor spots if nothing outdoors comes to mind. I would like it if I can wear a dress without seeming over dressed. (i.e. no dive bars) Thank you in advance! Oh, and you're all invited! ; )

Yeah, not crowded on Saturday sounds impossible. I've liked the Press Lounge, a rooftop bar in the Ink48 Hotel at 11th Av. and 48 St., but I would expect it (and any other rooftop bar) to be crowded on a Saturday night. You wouldn't be overdressed there in a dress, but anyone dressed in jeans would be fine, too. Why don't you go there tomorrow night, check it out, talk to the bartender if you like it, and see what s/he says about the scene there on Saturdays.
