Cape Cod Father's Day Recommendations

b

Heading to the Cape this weekend and looking for a spot for Father's Day lunch between Brewster and "the Mainland". I would greatly appreciate any recommendations. Looking for something casually elegant that takes reservations. Waterside is a plus, but not necessary. Also, open to ticketed special events like a Chef's BBQ or something similar.

Thanks!!

I haven't tried it yet myself, but the Ocean Terrace, new at Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster looks appealing. The view from the mansion should be spectacular, and the sample menu on-line looks interesting. I'm sure they take reservations. If you do decide to try it, please make sure and report back here.

Thanks so much! We're actually staying at the Ocean Edge, so the Ocean Terrace is already on the itinerary. Will absolutely report back. Any other ideas?

For me it's a no brainer..ocean view, valet, great drinks, creative menu, great for all ages, Ocean House in Dennisport.

True, except they don't do lunch.

Their website is showing a lunch menu. Great place!

They now have a place called the Beach Bar where they do breakfast and lunch. I can't speak of it personally as I have yet to try it, but the photo's look like it's located in the basement of the motel next door. Not sure it's what the Op would be looking for and it certainly isn't the same as The Ocean House.

a friend whose opinion I value above almost all others swears that Fin in Dennis is one of the best restaurants she has been to.

Fin is indeed remarkable. The former chef from The Brewster Fish house owns it with her husband who owns an oyster farm. That said, they also do not do lunch which is the point of this thread.

I have dined at Fin three times. It is one of the Cape's best dining experiences. The staff, the low key amazing chef, the menu and ingredients make this great. What I have to say is, the time you go and where you sit impacts your experience. I prefer a subdued dining experience. I found that in Dec. and two weeks ago. A year go this week was very crowded. I love the table at the top of the stairs (for 3-4 people) and would also recommend the private dining room. LOVE LOVE LOVE FIN..but not on the water...more intimate than Ocean House.

All very true. But neither does lunch which, once again, is the subject of this thread!

Ocean House did Mother's Day brunch hence my rec but I called and they are doing lunch in the beach bar, not the main dining restaurant. I defer to CCG, the Cape Cod authority to guide you best, OP.

Oh Phelena! You flatter me, but I am no more an authority of the Cape Cod dining scene than you. Look at all the places that you report on that are amazing!.

I love it when the titans of cape cod dining quibble!
