New member here and a question about almond butter!

Hi! I know for my first post this may be strange, but where is the best place to obtain fresh ground organic almond butter? (The kind you grind yourself)

I use it so often and I have been buying it at Whole Foods, but the one near me (Arlington) has switched "brands" so to speak. It doesn't have the right color, is no longer organic, and it is dry thus lacking the oils as though the almonds are old. I bake a lot with it and like to use it often here in our household -- I am missing it!

If anyone can let me know of a place to get the real thing, please let me know.

Thank you so much!

    Welcome Katikah, we share a store/locale. :)

MaraNatha is a tasty brand of premade if you don't find another fresh source, I second twinwillow's suggestion.

I will suggest considering, roasting and grinding your own. A few minutes in a toaster oven, plus a long whirl in food processor, you'd be surprised how good it can taste. You control all oil, salt, and sweetening added. Freezes fine for baking.

The MaraNatha brand almond butter sold at Costco is NOT organic.

Organic MaraNatha almond butter is available at Wholefoods and Natural Grocers. If you have a Natural Grocers convenient to you, use them for all your organic food needs and supplements. They're a wonderful all organic store and, less expensive across the board on everything.

The only locations I know of in Dallas are at Preston Forest S/W corner, Casa Linda shopping center and 7517 Campbell Road.
      Sorry, none near Arlington.

And, if you do go to a Natural Grocers, bring your own shopping bag because they do not offer any at all.

I know it's available because I've seen it. Possibly at Natural Grocers, Wholefoods or, Sprout's.
But, my choice is the MaraNatha brand of almond butter sold in the large, 26 ounce jar for $5.99 at Costco. Oil on the top so, stir well and refrigerate. And at Costco, it's half the price of other stores like Wholefoods that sell the same brand.
