NYE Cocktail wedding venue advice

Hi
My daughter is beginning to think about a venue for her 2013 wedding.

She would like a cocktail party, New Year's Eve, food stations, enough tables/chairs, sofas for the "old folks", for around 100 people. It would be preferable to have the ceremony on-site, especially considering what the weather may be doing, and the general business of getting around on NYE. Ceremony would perhaps start about 7 or 7:30, with the reception immediately following.

My interest is having great food, (I'd love the AGO, but the cost is prohibitive), a beautiful and intimate location, something that might feel like a really great house party, where guests can kick back and party and dance.

Any recommendations based on peronal experience would be appreciated.

Also, I've been advised that the cost of a cocktail party with food stations is about the same as a sit-down due to the food wastage, but any ideas how much more, as a percentage, it may be for NYE.

We live in the West end of Toronto, so we're not too interested in travelling too much East of Yonge.

Thanks again.
