Atera or EMP

My wife and I are coming to NYC this Summer and are trying to decide between Eleven Madison Park and Atera. We have read so much about EMP and are sure it will be amazing but I think we might be missing an opportunity to eat at a place like Atera before if becomes even more impossible to get into and even more well-known. Places like EMP will probably be around around for a little while and Atera seems more unique. This is probably a can't lose situation but I thought I would check in here to get some thoughts. We like how intimate Atera is but I love that EMP adds an incredible beer and cocktail menu into the mix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

  1. Two completely different experiences. Both have great food

Atera is like eating at someone's kitchen counter and tasting their great creations. EMP is a traditional experience with ambiance, service, etc.

Decide what you want to experience. As to EMP always being around, I always go for today. Who knows what will happen tomorrow. They could sell it, decide to go a different way with their food, etc.

Places like Atera have been around for a while in NYC, just that places like momofuku made the high end tapas style very hot as of late
