Looking for a Great Bakery

I will be in Miami next week (June 20) for a culinary competition at Doral and am looking for the best French bread (baguette or ficelle) in Miami. I can freeze and ship what I use, but will suffer with the quality factor. Any suggetstions? Thanks for your help!

Pastry is Art is an awesome bakery. It's up in Hollywood. I believe they do baguettes there because I know they make their own bread for breakfast sandwiches. Jenny is the owner and super nice so maybe she will help you out regardless? Check them out at www.pastryisart.com

French Bakery on US1 and 144th makes a good baguette. For real. So does Paul. So does the Atelier Monier. Whole Foods bread does not do it for me.

The French Bakery Paul on Lincoln Rd or other locations. Not great baguette selection in South Florida.

I'm not sure if Buena Vista Deli bakes their baguettes in-house, but you might check with them.

Buena Vista Deli's baguettes are awful. Most baguettes in Miami are woeful. The best I've found are at Atelier Monnier. It's a bit far from Doral, but it's a straight shot down the 826 expressway (aka the Palmetto expressway)

It's probably the same as bread as any other Whole Foods anywhere in the US.

It's not saying much but the best Baguettes down here are the little shitay pan plus franchises in gas stations and Presidente supermarkets

I was wonder which is the better of the two - Pan & Plus or Pagnifique... have you or anyone else tried them both?
