Dinner in 10022 - moderately priced

My husband and I purchased a coop at 57th and 1st. Any recommendations for moderately priced dinners? We are familiar with the high end restaurant scene but since we will be in town regularly, We need the basics in walking distance for now. My tastes are adventurous/eclectic. My husband favors Italian.

Please define "moderately priced" per person before alcohol including tax & tip. I live in the nabe, but different people have differing definitions regarding price. I'm less adventurous than you, I think. Others on the board seem to live nearby as well.

I consider Felidia and Morso pricey. I would say $40: nice enough to be a night out but better than the chains. Neighborhood pubs are of interest as are places with substantial appetizers.
