Restaurant in Santa Rosa

  • 9

Does anyone know of a good restaurant in Santa Rosa? I'm looking to take my friends from New York out to dinner. We are looking for really great food but also in the mid-price range. Nothing too fancy. We are staying in Santa Rosa so I'd prefer something in town- I know there's a lot in nearby towns but we're going there later, we want to stay close for our first dinner. I don't care about the type of food- American, Mexican, or Greek all sound great- most Italian places don't impress me.
Thanks!

  1. Therese....here is a link to the menu at Willi's Wine Bar. The quality of the food at Willi's is very good...and it is a fun place. For Mexican, there is La Texanita on Sebastopol Ave, which is a place that has been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. But, DDD aside, the food is delicious, and this is a very casual place.

Second on Willi's. Good food, very local flavor.

I think I'm seeing double. I'll be in Sonoma next week for 3 days followed by a stay in Santa Rosa for 3 days. Willi's is on my list

I'm recommending Willi's Wine Bar in Santa Rosa. I haven't been to any of their other places.

I had a fabulous meal at Willi's Wine Bar last nite.

ahi tuna tartare; crab tacos; baked oyster with guanciale, artichokes & parmesan; arugula & Endive Salad with avocado, manchego cheese, toasted almonds, meyer lemon- truffle vinaigrette; pulled duck BBQ on a bed of polenta & cheese. the Warm Scharffen Berger Flourless Chocolate Cake was excellent.

      2. El Rinconcito Yucateco - a little family run Yucatan restaurant.

Make sure you try their Cochinita Pibil and their fried panuchos, but everything we had was really good!

        1. A fun, very casual restaurant in West Santa Rosa is Sazon (can't seem to do the accent on the o). Peruvian food, nice young couple, hole in the wall type place. Famous for ceviche but also have weird stir fry (some with french fries). I know it doesn't sound good, but somehow it is. Reservations a good idea since it only seats about 20 people.

Lomo Saltado (stir-fried beef with fries) is a standard Peruvian dish.
