Boxed broth (unopened) left in hot car!

Last night I got a 6-pack of boxed chicken broth from Costco. Since I had so many other things to carry into the house I forgot the whole thing in the backseat of the car when we got home! It stayed in there from about 6 PM last night until today at 5 PM - and it was pretty hot today, in the 80s.

I feel dumb asking if they'll be okay to use. Am I just wishfully thinking that they haven't all gone to waste?

  1. Its fine.

Also, I wish "in the 80's" was considered hot here during the summer :(

    1. It'll be fine. And keep in mind that boxed & canned items like this are shipped nationwide in unrefrigerated tractor-trailer trucks. How hot do you think it gets in there cross-country?

      1. They probably sat in a truck somewhere that was at least as hot, so don't worry about it.

        1. You can send them to me. I'll do an analysis, and send them back!

          1. They were processed at temps much higher than that to sterilize them before shipping.
