I impulse purchased some chorizo flavored seitan today. I'm new to seitan and also meat flavored veg proteins. Any advice on how to cook with it?
I do an egg scramble with onions, cheese and chorizo seitan for breakfast - my wife makes an excellent enchilada casserole -
Chili, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, sauteed with beans, onion and garlic and serve over rice or grits. Anything you'd do with actual chorizo. It's already cooked so don't do any more than heat it up.
Sounds yummy! Seitan doesn't need to be cooked, just warmed up. You can use it in any recipe you want to add chorizo. I like using fake sausage with shredded cabbage. This recipe is a good example:
