A third party lid for for Demeyere fry pan?
I own a Demeyere 11 inch fry pan for a while. Unfortunately, the pan did not come with a lid, which I need occasionally. The SS lid offered by Demeyere is way too expensive, and has a poor review in Amazon. And I don't want a glass lid.
I am wondering if a lid from another manufacture with the same size would work. For example, this one from Fissler http://www.amazon.com/Fissler-Origina....
Any experience or suggestion? thanks,

I bet the Fissler lid would work fine.
In my limited experience, lids from European makers/designers are interchangeable for the same cm size. The lid for the 22 cm Fagor pressure cooker fits the 22 cm Demeyere curved saute (evasee, saucier). The lid for the Mauviel 28 cm saute pan fits the 28 cm Cuisinart skillet. Etc.

Winco S/S lid #SSTC-12. lid fits that pan pretty good. Not much of a dome though. Lid should be under $15.00

Hi, kikicoco314:
Welcome to my nightmare. Only the rare vintage pan I buy still has its lid, and so I have several pans that remain single, and am constantly looking for suitable mates.
The bad news is, like most marriages, it takes matrimony to be sure of the fit. Unless and until you actually mate pan and lid, it is impossible to tell with any certainty, even if they're both European metric. Everyone measures a little differently, so you might not have the perfect diameters (min, max and flange) in mind, and the sellers/manufacturers aren't going to be a lot of help. Your best bet is to take your Demeyere around to brick and mortar stores for a little speed-dating. Or, if you are uber patient, order on line, and keep ordering/returning until you find your mail-order Goldilocks lid.
The good news is that there are universal lids out there that will work, and they're cheap. All of the modern ones I've seen have also been beaten with an ugly stick. There are also the kinds of semi-universal lids we copper collectors call "lollypops" because they're just a disk of metal with a stick handle; these will fit several sizes of pans, but they don't seal, so the overhangs tend to drip. I've also never seen lollypops rendered in SS. The advantages of these--in addition to versatility--are they're a dream to store and can be used for table service.
Just so you feel better, I also have a number of widowed lids that are wanting pans, and that's an even taller order.
Aloha,

Agree that they don't look great, but I've got a couple, they're cheap, and they work fine. Domed models might drip. Dished like this means a reasonable fit on most pans, and no dripping:
