"Of the Month Club" for Father's Day?
I wanted to get my father a subscription to an "of the month" club for something food related for father's day this year. I know the basic idea of what kind of club I want to get him, but I don't know which site to get it from. So, I guess my question to all of you would be have you tried any really good clubs and what websites did you order them from? did whoever you got it from seem to like it? Was it worth the price? (I love my dad, but 250+ dollars for twelve whatevers seems a little excessive). Thanks!
I have sent some great "of the month" gifts to many friends and family. (Go to amazingclubs.com and you'll see the selection) I have sent my brothers-in-law beer of the month for several years now (they love it so much they always ask me to renew it). I have also sent breakfast, coffee, olive oil and cookies as gifts. (You can also send wine, hot sauce, ice cream and a ton of other things.) What I love about amazingclubs is they have a "seasonal" club option which means they ship your gift once every 3 months (4 times a year) so it's a way to be remembered for the year without paying for 12 months. I have been super happy with them.
It does seem a little pricey but if you figure in the work they're doing in your stead and the shipping, etc., it's really about time and convenience once you know you like the product. Harry and David's is reliable, with a ton of selections.
Just a suggestion, if cost is a concern: i've done themed "of the month" gifts and just selected and mailed out myself: hot sauce OTM, Salsa OTM, Spice OTM, Beer, Candy....any number of things, and it was fun to do, although a definite committment of time and lines at the post office.
Not for Fathers Day, but for the past several years I've bought my parent's the 6-month club from "Burger's Smokehouse". They LOVE it. Every other month they get something like a whole smoked chicken, baby back ribs, spiral-sliced ham, smoked turkey breast, etc., etc. Wonderful value & excellent food (I've bought from them for myself as well).
However, you might as well know upfront that there are going to be very few quality "of the month clubs" that aren't going to be at least around $200. You get what you pay for.
