Looks like they had a kick ass weekend. Just grabbed a four piece dinner and a three wing dinner both spicy and the chicken was even fresher. Like crown chicken fresh. Crispy, non greasy, just right with a warm buttery biscuit.

Trying to figure out how we can hit Round Guys, Tabora, Shellfish Sue and Popeyes all on the same day.

Not to derail, but has anyone tried Crown's? The place looks kinda scary(figuratively) but smells phenomenal.

I have always found the chicken from Crown to be be very fresh and delicious. On another chicken note I went to boston market in towamencin a couple times recently and was very pleasantly surprised. Thinking of starting a new topic about it, as they are doing some very good things there.

It may vary by location but crown is great... Very crispy and flavorful, albeit salty. I think it's better than popeye's except the sides are pretty bad and no biscuits.

I guess this is as good a post as any to share two things about Popeye's I learned recently...
First is that if you go in at closing, they will give you chicken at a steep discount... I was able to snag 10 pieces for $5 at the one near Broad & Snyder the other night.
The second thing I learned is that having a a large amount of Popeye's available after you have imbibed and self control is low will make for a very unpleasant morning full of not only physical discomfort but also unspeakable shame.

Ha ha ha! Good to know barry. I remember when the proposed Hatfield location was an Arthur Treachers.

Sounds like a great idea if you want to add a huge mess in the kitchen to the misery...

Hopefully you did not get the cole slaw then.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the KFC folks just moved their shop to 309 near the old Borders.. so now we will have two deep fried poultry places within spitting distance.

cw that KFC in montgomeryville has been there forever but they used to also have A and W rootbeer. I would love to get a rootbeer float and a coupla chili cheese dogs even though they almost always forgot the cheese and we would have to send them back. At least I can still get biscuits there.
I'm looking forward to Popeye's spicy chicken and red beans and rice or dirty rice and biscuits!
