Pour over coffee advice (Hario v60)

mbreed Jun 8, 2012 04:09 PM

I'm about to purchase the Hario v60 ceramic dripper, the drip kettle and the Hario slim coffee grinder. My question is simple: do I really need to buy the serving pitcher to drip the coffee into? Will the v60 fit on a mug or a 2 cup Pyrex?

Thanks for any advice on this or pour over coffee brewing in general.

I don't have the ceramic v60 but use a plastic v60 every day. I drip it into my mug everyday. You don't need the serving pitcher.

I have the Hario -- use it straight over my coffee cup with no problem.

With the plastic v60, you can even drip straight into a slim thermos.

I fill my mug, pour that into the kettle to boil, and then drip back into the mug. That gives me a consistent mug full each time.
