Bavarian Brathaus in Durham

Curiosity got the best of me last weekend so while I was driving by I decided to pop into BB. Much of the menu is more than I was wanting to spend on lunch but in the back of the menu there is a deal to be had. You can get one brat for $4.99 or two for $7.99 on what I believe are pretzel rolls. Then you can choose whatever sides you want with it for $1.50 each. I went for a curry brat with spaetzel having had neither before. The curry brat was awesome! They have a grainy mustard and a dijon-like mustard as well as a curry ketchup that they make in-house. The spaetzel, however, was tough from the pan frying and very bland tasting. Think I will get try the German potato salad instead next time. BB has a very good German beer selection on tap, about 15 to choose from I believe. I enjoyed my Spaten wheat beer.

I'm not sure about that location though. Maybe they should move to the Jim's Famous location.

This is the first positive thing I've ever read about the Durham Brathaus.

Okay, I'll make it two. Their brats are really good. I've never eaten one there, but I buy them and cook them at home.

Thanks for the report. If this is the same one used be in Cary, I'm happy to know it's so close by now!
