Who has a good selection of Talenti gelato?

aynrandgirl Jun 7, 2012 12:48 AM

If they carry it, everybody seems to carry the same 5 or 6 flavors, but they have around 20. Since they discontinued my beloved Sonoma Strawberry I'd like to try some of their other flavors.

My partner said Luci's Heathy Marketplace at 16th St & Bethany Home Rd in Phoenix has a half dozen flavors. Give them a call.

sprouts has a good selection of talenti gelatos. I get mine from there all the time, the pistachio and blood orange are really good.

Tried the Sprouts in Chandler, they didn't have blood orange, strawberry, or belgian chocolate. Darn!

Try calling Sunflower Market (now owned by Sprouts though, much to my chagrin) in Tempe. I saw what seemed like quite a few flavors there, but don't remember any specifics.

Thanks for the Sunflower recommendation. Score! They had both Strawberry and Blood Orange, and 1-qt tubs of Belgian Milk Chocolate that I've never seen before.

Unfortunately, I suspect that when the Sprouts switchover is finalized they won't be carrying these flavors, just like the other Sprouts (and every other retailer). These flavors were allowed to go near-empty on the shelves, and the tubs are a discontinued item.

Well, I'm glad you found it this time at least. It is on sale, I believe, so they may restock after the sale. Sunflower always did sort of let things run out when they were on sale.

I am rather sad about the sale of Sunflower to Sprouts. I will be sorry when the changeover is finalized. Sunflower has been a favorite of mine and I find their prices and produce quality better. Oh well.

I'm looking at a photo my partner took at the Fry's at Highland & 20Th St in Phoenix. I see Carribean Coconut, Belgian Milk Chocolate, Roman Raspberry, Tahitian Vanilla Bean & Mediterranean Mint. And here's a link to their store finder.

Too bad the store finder doesn't tell you what flavors they have. Those you noted are the standard ones almost everybody has (the dark chocolate is the other). I haven't seen their blood orange flavor anywhere, though the poster above apparently saw it at Sprouts (but not the Sprouts I tried).

The FAQ section of the Talenti website has a question "What if I can't find the flavor I'm looking for?"

Answer = "Don’t panic! Ask the frozen food manager at your retailer to order the flavor you’re looking for. You can also email us comments@talentigelato.com for more help!"

I would email them & ask if anyone in the area has ordered the flavors you like.

I normally buy Talenti gelatos at the sprouts on cactus & tatum, they seem to have a wide selection. I'll take a look what they have this weekend and let you know.

Contacted them. They said Bashas and Whole Foods would have the flavors I'm looking for. Bashas didn't have them and the store manager said he wasn't permitted to order them. Whole Foods didn't have them either, still haven't heard from the store manager about getting them.

My hubby says the pistachio is the best he has ever eaten. Sadly we find the coconut and the mint flavors unremarkable for the price...
