I had a heads up from a friend in Venice who ate here the other day. Sounds (and looks) great. Anyone else been yet?

I like it. Interesting wines by the glass and small plates with a fun, casual vibe. It's small and the seating is mostly outside and definitely cozy; get really crowded some evenings.

The Eater LA story is about the expansion. So when you say it's "cozy" is that after the expansion or before? I guess with the Summer weather about to arrive an evening sitting outside drinking wine and eating good food wouldn't be too tough to contemplate...(g)

Ah - as noted in the comments to the Eater LA story, the expansion is actually a second restaurant from the same owners, Oscar's, with a separate menu. I haven't tried it yet, but I have friends who are big fans.

Went a long while back. Like cm says, interesting wines, good food, and tiny patio area. Had a nice lamb sandwich that went perfect with a chewy red that I can't remember. Oscar's Cerveteca is an extension of sorts. Same folks, craft beer-centric, food is more Mexican-themed, a lot bigger and brighter. Lots of locals, folks from local businesses and beach tourists.

I used to go quite frequently for lunch before I changed jobs. It was very enjoyable to sit out on the patio and enjoy a nice beer or glass of wine. They have good sandwiches and small plates. I haven't been lately as it gets very crowded in the evening and I'm not really able to make it over there for lunch anymore.
