worst cast ever!
I am for sure not a snob but heck-gross out! all of them, just gross
if I want to see tatts and sweat (well I don't want to) this would be the best place to see it.
is there anyone with any class or intelligence on the show?
best I think is roshi
I like-dana too
and I like roshi too
the rest? ugh!!!
stupid and disgusting is all I can say-I feel icky even watching this now-I used to like it sort of
if dana or roshi advance I will keep watching otherwise - ick ! no!
(shoot I know I will)
master chef isn't bad tho

I was surprised to learn that Roshni was a winner on Chopped. I haven't been that impressed with her.
Meanwhile, HK is the best comedy on television.

So Monday's elimination was delayed until Tuesday's episode, which itself is part one of a two-parter to be finished, I'm assuming, next Monday. Maybe next season they'll just end each episode with someone dangling from a cliff or encircled by sharks.

re: coney with everything
Cliffs, sharks, Kim Kardashian wearing only a white apron and chasing Gordon with a large bitter melon ... ALL has potential. Truth be told, I'm finding the present format of HK a bit taxing with all the ghetto and so-called "street" references. The MC hour that follows is much more pleasant to watch -- it's Gordon (somewhat) TRANSFORMED.

Trying to keep up who's friends with who.
Robyn and Barbie looked like pals on Monday 6/18
Kimmie and Tiffany look like they're friends - in the mean time, drunk Tiffany is telling Kimmie that Dani, Dana, and Christina are talking trash about Kimmie when it was Royce who was trashing Kimmie's taco.
Dani, Dana, and Christina are tight but Dani is a clown and will likely get the book. Drama continues tonight.

re: Worldwide Diner
The friendships are as fickle as the wellington and risotto. The editing makes it so. You literally can't believe anything you see, because it changes, without explanation from one week to the next. Barbie hasn't had a target on her back since the first 2 episodes when she was deemed the devil - for no obvious reason.
Gordon, Gordon, Gordon.... this isn't what we want. We don't want Jersey Shore cooks, or Kardashian kitchen....

I love Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, the F word, Master Chef, and Ramsay's Best Restaurant. Gordan is quite different for the American audience, but I enjoy the variety. I happen to enjoy a "good reality show" so Hell's Kitchen fills that TV spot for me. No, Hell's Kitchen isn't really a food show at all. It's a drama and I enjoy it for that. I suppose I could watch The Bachelorette or Survivor for it, but I like my Hell's Kitchen fix. If you take it for what it's worth (and care to watch that sort of thing), Hell's Kitchen is still that - DRAMA.

Barbie's not a good cook, she deserves some flack but probably not as much as she's getting. Initially I thought Dana (the cooking instructor) could stay above the fray but I was wrong. I don't know what it is about Dana but her confessionals seem really insincere? I think the strongest chefs on each team are Christine and Patrick. Robyn, despite her rather trashy attitude, seems like a competent cook. I was wondering what would've happened if the private jet went down with Gordo and the female team....I'd miss Hell's Kitchen for maybe 5 seconds.

re: Worldwide Diner
Don't you think that if you taught yourself one thing before going on the show, you would learn to cook scallops? Ramsey even has a how to video on YouTube.

I am giving up after tonight. I don't have anyone to root for, send them all home and let me watch Master Chef.-

re: calliope_nh
I found it very very interesting that in last night's episode of MC, for the last challenge where the judges had to present the dish that instills the most fear in them- two of the three were things that Gordon expects the chefs in HK to get perfect every time- Joe presented a risotto and Gordon himself presented beef wellington.
I am actually starting to resent HK for treating the viewing audience like a bunch of idiots- I mean all of a sudden this week, Barbie isn't even on the radar. One week everyone and their 3rd cousin is gunning for her, this week it's Barbie who? and it seems like next week it's someone else...

I am not watching it, but let me guess... someone either burned the risotto or the scallops... or both were raw??

re: Cheese Boy
"Oh no, not again!"
::::GR smacks hands against the pass counter and sighs heavily::::
"Look at this, just LOOK at this!"
:::Calling out to the sweating jamokes in the kitchen::::
"ALL of you, come over here! Come on, get OVER here!"
:::everyone finally shuffles over as if they hadn't heard him the first 5 times he screamed at them::::
"LOOK at this. LOOK AT THIS! Touch it. Go on, TOUCH IT!"
:::everyone touches the chicken::::
"Cut it open - What do you see? IT'S RAW! You DONKEYS!"
:::GR throws plate on the floor, breaking it::::
"Get BACK to your stations! You can't even cook chicken correctly! GO ON! Get OUT of my face!"

Like that kind of interesting and humorous television, Cheese Boy? ;-)

re: LindaWhit
yep, yep, yep. HK this season looks particularly annoying...they seem to be choosing contestants based almost entirely on trashy behavior...the in-the-face-screaming is something I can find on almost any reality show, that isn't what I am interested in. MC, however, which is more about the food, is by far more interesting to me. I saw some promising, likable contestants, and I'm already inspired by the dishes presented by a couple of them. HK may have run it's course if it is resorting to these tactics. More food, please, less silliness.

re: LindaWhit
Linda I'm laughing to myself because I do find that sort of thing funny even though I've heard it a thousand times. Now, seeing raw Chicken Shakes being served up after an unsuccessful dinner service ... THAT would be funny. I had a friend who said something like that happened in college to a group of dorm residents and they were forced to defecate in urinals and sinks because the "results" were so sudden and so bad. It's quite an image if you think about it.

i ended up skipping last season after 3 episodes. i'll try it again. always willing to give Ramsay another chance.
does anyone know if the F Word is still running and if BBCA will show it?›8 Replies-
re: ritabwh
I am a staunch Ramsay fan- and have watched all the seasons of HK- but after today's second episode, I think I am throwing in the towel. It is not entertaining anymore- at any level. There is less and less kitchen action and more dorm room smackdown action happening and it seems that will be the trend for this season. I don't watch Jersey Shore because I have no interest in that kind of stupidity, and I'm certainly not going to watch this.
As for the F Word- that's a great show. I don't know if they're going to show it here either (Canada) but I certainly hope they do. That is the "real" Gordon Ramsay.

re: Joanie
Joanie- I think he is a talented chef, and if you watch the F Word or another one of his BBC shows (the name escapes me- Britain's best restaurant or something like that)- you get a sense of who he really is- or even Master Chef. The American network (Fox) has turned this how into a joke- HK that is. I wonder how much input he has in the contestant selection- I would be surprised if it were significant. He has been the same throughout the seasons, it's the choice of contestants that has completely gone to pot. It's the direction the show has been taking - you can't compare the first few seasons to the last or what this one is turning into. He's lost a viewer but not a fan. I will watch Master Chef though and look forward to it.

re: maisonbistro
Agree watch the BBC shows mentioned F Word, UK version of Kitchen Nightmares, or Ramsey's best Restaurant and it shows him in a different light. Also watch the Documentaries Boiling Point and Beyond Boiling Point.
Masterchef US looks more promising this season but it has a lot to live up to VS the AU, NZ, and UK versions. We just love our drama via editing,

re: chris2269
As I said, I know most of the other shows and agree he's a different person but the way he is on Kitchen Nightmares overshadows any of those redeeming qualities for me. The show is obviously an interesting premise but the fact that he allows himself to act like that (you can't even say "be portrayed like that" cuz he's obviously doing all that yelling and swearing) just completely turns me off of him. All IMHO of course.

This season should be dubbed the trailer trash season. I am not dissing anyone, but just with the clips of the fist fights and language and attitude- none of these people belong in a professional kitchen is that is how they behave. I know that editing, ratings etc. have a lot to do with it, but you would think that Fox and Ramsay would get a sense of what the people want, and although a little drama is always interesting- this season portends to be just too way over the top. I love me some Gordon, but it is definitely getting tiresome.
And as for his rants- this season might be the first time they are actually justified.

re: Worldwide Diner
Nope ... was just answering the question 'why did Kimmie and Tiffany go psycho on Barbie'. It's quite possible that those two are racist.
Barbie put up GOOD food (3 or 4 times) and yet those two bitches were tearing her a new one. It sucks witnessing that sort of thing, IYKWIM.

re: Cheese Boy
I am thinking that there might have been a whole crapload of editing happening- because it just doesn't make sense that all the girls would turn on Barbie. She won them the challenge! I would hate to think that they've all just turned on her because of the color of her skin- and even worse that Fox, and Gordon Ramsay would use that. Okay, I guess I'm naive- but the thought is appalling and disgusting.

I did. I'm getting a bit tired of his formulaic shtick, though. His constant redfaced high-volume screaming begins to sound like loud mosquitoes buzzing after awhile; he'd be ever so much more effective if he was lower-keyed and only "exploded" when it was seriously merited. Clearly by design, to melt the brains of the people on the line and make for The!MOST!EXPLOSIVE!SEASON!EVER!
Tevon (?) was waaaaaaay out of his league. His scallops were a crime.
And the pate a choux bungling kinda mystified me - after 3 tries, at a longer time, and it still didn't bake thoroughly? That too seemed a bit staged.

re: mamachef
I also watched Master Chef and you can't compare to HK- one is a horrible accident that you just can't turn away from, the other is a genuine "cooking" show. The last contestant was remarkable, and I am honestly in awe of what she can do, but I just don't understand how she can fare alone in a kitchen- it borders on dangerous- in a professional kitchen. Joe seemed to be really touched by her story though and it's nice to see him have a heart- although I didn't appreciate him doubting Monti Carlo (okay, the name is a bit, umm.... out there) or her dedication.

re: maisonbistro
I wonder if the Americans with Disabilities Act will come into play--can she have an assistant to pick produce or find ingredients in the pantry, etc? Seemed to be a gracious, lovely lady with an incredible attitude. Wish her well.
HK--just can't/won't watch that again. It's too much contrived yelling, fights, crudeness--both from GR and the contestants.
-
re: maisonbistro
I agree that there's no way you can compare the two Ramsay shows. Which is why I've stopped watching HK. It's just not interesting - way too formulaic. And since Joanie said there's no one from Boston, I really don't care about the fighting and biting. :-)
And I agree, it'll be interesting to see what is allowed on MasterChef- will she have a guide to map the table and the appliance placement? Will she have someone to do her running into the pantry to get her items? I just honestly don't see how this is going to work, but we'll see.
