Forbidden Rice

Hey everyone, I found some forbidden rice today and am so excited about trying to cook with it, but I'm not seeing very exciting recipes online - which is surprising since it's so often really delicious in restaurants. Anyone have any tried and true? Thanks!

    Cook it and it'll turn more purple than black. Use it in a sir fry and add some roasted garlic cloves and bacon. Nice and chewy. If you like chewy texture in rice I think you'll like it. It's very versatile and can be used in a wide variety of hot and cold dishes; even desserts and salads.

      Sauté some bell pepper, onion, And garlic then cook the rice in the same pot. When serving, top with slivered almonds and freh mint or parsley. Make sure to add enough salt during cooking.

      A good crowd pleaser- top the warm cooked rice with a chunky salsa of avocado, mango, scallions, lime juice.

      The rice can also be used to make coconut rice pudding.

        My sister made the Forbidden Rice (Thai flavors with mangoes & peanuts) recipe in this months Bon Appetite (find at Epicurious.com) and I really liked it.
