5Church Uptown Charlotte
So, during my visit last week I decided to take my friends to 5Church.
Wednesday night, and OMG, what a freakin' scene.
Obviously it's "the place" to go right now and be seen, see people. etc.
We loved the space and actually the energy, the noise, the scene, wasn't too distracting. We just had a great time.
And the food....it's actually pretty good. Little small plates were tasty and each entree was really good.
The staff is still figuring it out...especially young waitresses obviously overwhelmed....again we didn't care.
We're moving to the area later this summer....like to try Customshop next.

Maybe if you take the light rail from the south blvd station, that might be easiest. Here is a link: http://charmeck.org/city/charlotte/ca...
Please report back. I'm dying for more reliable feedback on 5Church. I've heard mixed reviews but I have such high hopes that it's a great place w/ great food.
Good luck!

That is a long walk. I'm not sure what day it takes effect but they're stopping train service at Stonewall.
Driving on Sunday shouldn't be terrible if you're coming from the south side of downtown and avoid interstates but if you're coming from the north I envision more hassle.

re: billyjack
I'm looking at a 19 page Press Release from the DNC security people and it looks like street closures on that Sunday start at 9am, mostly around Time Warner Cable Arena. I-77 only closes on Thursday until 2am on Friday. Still, I'd avoid the heck out of the area if I didn't have to be there. The "protest" area is on that side of Uptown and things could spread out to who knows where, even Elizabeth.
