Monday dinner suggestions mid June

Wife & I are staying near Lincoln Park having dinner with friends on Sunday at Mon Ami Gabi and are then on our own for Monday nite. Looking for a nice evening with decent wine and service after a day of sightseeing. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Just about anything is no more than a $12 cab ride from lincoln park, so may i suggest giving a few more criterea for which you'd look. Decent wine is everywhere, great wine is more selective, and do you want casual (run back to the hotel freshen up and put on jeans) or as the first responder posted, no price limit, no dress limits, all-in bust-out expensive place. Do you want more cutting-edge new concept places or something more conservative?

Although almost anything I could suggest would top Mon Ami Gabi.

        Thank you for the responses.

Mon Ami Gabi is as close as I could get to the location of Ambria restaurant where I proposed to my wife.

We are only in Chicago 2 nites before flying on to Nebraska. I am looking for suggestions for dinner for the 2 of us for <$300 total. Not interested in Mexican or Chinese cuisine. I'm not planning to bring a jacket. Although we are somewhat adventurous, I'm looking for a memorable dinner but not too cutting edge. Although Perennial Virant would be convenient to where we are staying, we don't mind a taxi ride.

I believe that L20 is in the actual space previously occupied by Ambria (a restaurant that I loved too). But given your price point & dress code issues, L20 is obviously not in the cards for you.

What about Acadia in the S. Loop? Note that they have a Tasting Menu that you need to reserve for and that is not listed on their standard menu. I believe that you can stay within your price point as long as you don't go crazy on the wine. The atmosphere is fine-dining but not stuffy & no dress code.

Just realized that you are looking for a Monday night. I don't think Acadia is open on Mondays.

Perennial Virant - it's farm to table type food, right across from the park. Just ate there for the second time this past weekend and it is amazing. Some of the best food in the city. Nice laid back atmosphere, great service and creative, seasonal preparations.

Since you didn't mention any price restrictions, I assume none!

          L2o!

Also at the high end, Tru has an excellent wine program, as does L20.
Jackets are required for men at Tru and are suggested at L20.
