Crust in fenton michigan

Crust is a new bakery in Fenton, MI - I think its owned by the french laundry folks.

I loved their chocolate cookies and their chocolate cherry oatmeal bar. Expensive but large - good to share. I also liked the challah bread.
I haven't tried their sandwiches yet.

Crust was started by the folks who own the restaurant in Fenton, Michigan called THE LAUNDRY. It has no relationship to Thomas Keller's famous restaurant in California called THE FRENCH LAUNDRY.

Nsxtasy- The OP is correct. The restaurant in Fenton is called the French Laundry, not The Laundry. I don't think it was meant to imply association with Thomas Keller's restaurant.

Well, the restaurant's owners refer to it as simply "The Laundry" on Crust's website at as well as on the restaurant's Facebook page at Perhaps it was originally the French Laundry but they changed the name to avoid confusion (or litigation!)...

Good to know! It looks like the change took place in late May, after all these years. Who would have thought anyone would mistake Michigan for California? There's a pizza place named Crust within a short drive from Fenton, I wonder if they will try to sue, too? ;)

Wow, I was just there in May and didn't notice the change. It has been the French Laundry, in Fenton, for years...never confused it with the original place in CA. However, I was confused when they opened Crust as I live in Rochester where we already had a Crust...although it is a pizza place.
