New Place in Milford, CT. Looks Promising.
It's called Indigo By The Water. It's in the spot that used to be Cabo and assorted other dismal Mexican restaurants.
I sense these folks know what they are doing and have heard good things from the ladies over at Scratch Baking (who are supllying all the bread.)
It is good! Had lunch there last Sunday. Only problem is that they don't take reservations except for large groups (10+). The co-owner told me that except for Friday and Saturday between 7:30 - 9PM there should not be much of a wait. Haven't checked out that info yet but will soon.
One of my co-workers went there a couple of weeks ago for apps and drinks, and was very disappointed. She said that the food, while quite good, seemed very expensive for what you got, but the biggest disappointment was at the bar. Apparently, the bartender was very inexperienced and knew absolutely nothing about the wines they were pouring and seemed miffed when asked to make a specific cocktail. I think that you might chalk this up to the newness of the place, but in my opinion, when you open an upscale restaurant with pricey small plates and drinks, you should have a well trained staff in place. It was clear that this was not the case.
