Baltimore good eats near airport

I have to pick up some people from the Baltimore airport and it will be around dinner time when they come so I wanted to eat out in Baltimore. It will be my first trip there, too. I am driving in from Ashburn, VA which is 1 hour and 20 mins away. (Tix were $100 each cheaper than into Dulles!!!)

I am looking for something in Baltimore but not too far from the airport since I don't want the return trip to take extra long.

I loved the recent Baltimore good eats thread, but when I searched, some of the suggestions were in the opposite direction of NoVa from the BWI, adding 40+ minutes to my trip.

Ideally I would like to try something low to mid-range in price, doesn't require reservations, and is iconic of the regional cuisine, but am really open to anything that is guaranteed to be a great meal for my guests and me. Cantonese, tacos, Caribbean, whatever...but someplace good.

(Also, nothing too porky menu-wise.)

  1. I heard there is a pretty good Sichuan place near the airport... something 'garden'. Bet you can find it somewhere on the threads.

How about Grace Garden in Odenton its on your back to VA

    2. Two recs: Little Spice Thai restaurant, which is less than 10 minutes from the airport, and Grace Garden Chinese, less than 20 minutes. Both in the direction back towards NoVa. Search this board, especially on the latter, for about a zillion positive messages.

Also, I'd say that the representation of "regional" has changed over the last 10-15 years. But if you're looking for Chesapeake-oriented, Gunnings crab house is also very close to BWI. More mixed reviews on this board.
