Vienna - Schonbrunn Palace summer night concert
I'll be at the Palace next week (June 7th) for the night concert, I'm driving to Vienna after work so I won't have a lot of time to stop and eat on the way there.
Are there food vendors in the park for the concert or is this verboten? If there aren't any vendors I'm assuming it's okay to picnic with a bottle of wine during the concert?
My outdoor music festival experience is mostly North American where we're searched heavily for "contraband" (contraband also includes outside food/alcohol) before being able to enter most outdoor festivals.
Appreciate guidance from anyone who's been in the past few years.
Thx

Here is the detailed info for the - free - concert in the park of Schloss Schönbrunn:
http://www.sommernachtskonzert.at/ind...
There is a mentioning of "food service", and no rule against bringing your own food with the exception of alcoholic beverages: Sorry: NO WINE ALLOWED !!
Other things you cannot bring are chairs, blankets or any other kind of seats. So: NO PICNIC !!
Pets and baby carriages are also forbidden...I would just bring a few sandwiches and bottles of water, and maybe raincoats, the weather forecast is not that good, there might be rain...

One remark concerning the link:
http://www.sommernachtskonzert.at/ind...you have to choose the language AND the year !
Otherwise you get the info for 2008...

re: Sturmi
Just in case anyone is looking for info on food/drink for the concert in the future, here's the update from a few weeks ago.
There were only a few food vendors and a few beverage vendors, not much selection but what they had all appeared good and lots of people had smiles on their faces.
Everyone in the vicinity of where we sat had their own wine/beer or other spirits and there was no attempt to stop them nor did there appear to be any rules with regard to alcohol at the event. The only rule(s) we saw enforced were with regard to chairs/blankets in the main public standroom sections. When the concert was about to start security went through this area and had everyone pack up their chairs and blankets, but those outside those areas (closer to the palace itself or on the hill) were not directed to pack up at all.
Great night, good picnic dinner and beautiful weather... I strongly encourage anyone to attend this concert in the future should they find themselves in Vienna in early June.
