I'll be going to Fayetteville at the end of the month. Can anyone give me some recommendations for restaurants, no chains, that serve good food? I'll be there for a week; so lots of recommendations will be helpful! Also, I'm willing to eat just about anything! Thanks in advance.

I worked at Ft Bragg for 6 month in 2008, so my recs are old.

I liked Thai Esan and the 316 Oyster Bar. Scrub Oak is pretty good too. Fayetteville has a lot of chains.

I've heard ok things about Fuller's BBQ, but I never went.

Here's a report from my colleague on the San Francisco Bay Area board, pcdarnell, on her finds last fall that can get you started.

Last year, I found a more than decent German bakery/cafe, Max & Moritz, when you feel like changing it up. Bread (brotchen) was better than the pastries, but you might do well cherry-picking what looks good. Wish I could have tried some of the German food there.
