Hi, I am going to be staying in LA with my boyfriend from the 18th of June to the 29th of July in the Los Feliz area and was hoping you guys might be able to help me find a few things while I am out there.

-somewhere to buy raw milk, raw goats milk would be especially good.
-somewhere to buy lamb and/or duck meat.
-somewhere to buy duck eggs.
-where the best char siu bao can be found.
-are they many farmers or community food markets?

Thank you in advance.

There are a lot of farmers markets in the area. The best one is the Hollywood Farmer's Market on Sunday. As tempted as you might be to go to the Los Feliz one on Sunday because its closer, make the effort to go to the Hollywood one. It's much bigger and better. There's a dairy farm there that sells raw milk. There are a lot of egg vendors but I've never bought eggs there or noticed whether they have duck eggs. They might. Apparently the Santa Monica Farmers Market has duck eggs, so Hollywood might too. The Silverlake poultry store mentioned in the duck eggs thread below is closeby. I can't personally vouch for it though. McCall's Meat and Fish in Los Feliz is an excellent high end butcher shop which will have lamb and duck meat. They might also sell duck eggs. I know they have a refrigerator full of gourmet ingredients that I probably should pay more attention to.

In nearby Atwater Villager, there's a relatively new "farm to table" corner store, Atwater Village Farm which might be worth checking out too for locally grown, natural/organic produce and goods:

I buy all my fruits and vegetables at the Hollywood Farmer's Market but I like their concept and have been meaning to check them out.
