DINNER SATURDAY NITE @ RESTAURANT ON WATER - JERSEY SHORE

Want to celebrate an anniversary this Saturday nite at a restaurant anywhere between Belmar and Seaside on the water for a party for 6 - Any recommendations - Need a varied menu since not all seafood lovers.

Made a reservation for Atlantic Bar & Gril for Saturday evening - Will let you all know how everything is there. We were to Stella Marina for my daughter's greaduation and it was fantastic but it's a little further up then I wanted to go. Was to Whispers last year and enjoyed it very much. Thank you everyone - now I can just hope for good weather and a table by the window!

job you are getting some good recomendations but just double check the locations because many people are telling you places not between your two desired destinations of Belmar and Seaside.

Avenue as listed here is an excellent restaurant as are many in Pier Village and Long Branch area but that is a good 20 mins north of Belmar.....I don't know how familiar with the area you are so I'm just trying to give you a heads up. Good Luck let us know where you selected.

Though not on the water, I'd recommend either of the following:

Whispers at the Hotel Wellington in Spring Lake. You can just about walk to the beautiful Spring Lake boardwalk after dinner. Good food, excellent service and I believe it is a BYO. This is a win win if you're looking for ambience, fine dining and a great locale.

More casual, but with excellent food is to be found at Brandl's in Belmar (about a half mile from the beach).

although a little bit north of Belmar Le Avenue in Long Branch Pier Village has a nice view.....
we enjoyed dinner there a few time also..especially the three tiered seafood appetizer tower..

While Stella Marina is a solid recomendation that's not within your location(s) points of between Belmar and Seaside so I would second the Atlantic Bar and Grill....although there has been turnover in the kitchen I haven't heard a bad thing about the place......although I haven't been there this season yet.

Although I cannot recomend them for their food quality...there is also the Lobster Shanty and the Warfside in Point Pleasant which offer very nice waterfront dining with a varied menu beyond seafood. They are both more waterfront dining than fine dining.

You had me cringing and convulsing with those Pt. recommendations till you clarified the dining with your last sentence. Daniel's Bistro is a far better choice. May be a bit late for a reservation for six (6) and that would be worth a shot as it's an excellent restaurant. I'm just not a big fan of the Point boards should one want to take a relaxing walk post dinner. See my post below (re: Spring Lake).

Is Daniels in Pt. on the water? Is it new? I haven't heard of it before. There is actually a good place on the water just before Pt. before you go over the bridge....in Manasquan I think it is.....it's at a marina and it's a nice place with good food but the name escapes me.

Regarding the Lobster Shanty and Warfside.....I try to be as precise and honest with my suggestions. Those are not places to go to dine.....they are there to eat, drink and enjoy the views.

I think you might be thinking of Shipwreck. It's in Brielle and sort of on the water. It's sister restaurant, Shipwreck Point is on the other side of the bridge and faces the Inlet. Either, actually might have been good recommendations for the OP.

Good point - somehow I was thinking "Long Branch to Seaside."

With ChefMD no longer at the AB&G, I don't think I'd recommend anymore. Stella Marina in Asbury Park would be my choice now.

No, I haven't - that's why I was hesitant to continue to endorse the place when this question comes up. Like you, I haven't seen a reliable review since the change.
