Short Report Caffe Nuovo
Greetings Boston Chowhounds -
Santa Fe hounds enjoying Boston for a few days. We had a late breakfast at Caffe Nuovo based on a few recs I found on this board.
Price reasonable and portions large. Lovely bright ambience. I had the caprese scramble (it had pesto in eggs and stack of tomato, bufo mozz and pesto as a side) and hubby had salmon scramble. Both plates well done - home fries delicious. Good, well done food.
Stereo too loud. Diet Coke served from a can (I expect fountain from a restaurant - it has a bar).
FYI... they are changing name to Ferraro's and say they are changing menu...
Thanks for the report. Glad you enjoyed it. We went a couple of weeks ago after not having been for a few months and were surprised to find that they had renovated the place, since they haven't been open very long. I guess they had some water damage and decided to close in the kitchen and install a small bar.
The menu is different but still has our favoites. My husband's tenderloin was cooked to medium rare and the eggs and homefries were the same. My carbonara was delicious also and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The pancetta was cut in really big pieces, though, which were tough to eat. I emailed them to give some feedback, but didn't hear back.
Anyway, the waitress said with the new name not much will change. It was definitely a whole new foh staff. I guess we'll wait and see. It's still in our Saturday morning rotation.
